Classical Liberalism
What’s in a name? Well, meanings do change over time. When did liberal come to mean socialism? I think it was back during the reign of Franklin D. Roosevelt that the name lost its historical meaning and became the code word for modern progressivism (read socialism).
Thomas Jefferson a big promoter of limited government would be termed a Classical Liberal but somehow the name was hijacked to mean something totally different.
With Hillary telling the nation that she would classify herself as a Progressive in the mold of the Progressives of the turn of the 20th Century, we should go back to our roots and start referring to ourselves as Classic Liberals.
Limited government and unlimited personal freedom, unfettered by a morass of government regulations. Free to succeed or fail without government interference. Freedom to live our lives as we see fit.
Looking at the Constitution, I can’t see anyplace that says or implies that the government should have a hand in determining whether or not I have health insurance, nothing that says the government should be involved in disaster relief, nowhere that implies government should be interfering in our lives at all. We the People, loan the government its power, We the People need to rein the government in and take our power back!
